千の風になって
日本語の歌詞がついていても、もともと外国の歌であるということがよくあります。
イギリスがＥＵ脱退するとき、欧州議会で歌われた「蛍の光」はスコットランド民謡でした。
ちなみに「蛍雪」は、晋書の「胤挙勤不倦、博学多通。家貧不常得油。夏月則練囊盛数十蛍火、以照書、以夜継日焉」と蒙求の「孫氏世録曰、康、家貧無油。常映雪読書。少小清介、交遊不雑。後至御史大夫」からきて
いるそうです。
「身の丈」での満足をせず、刻苦勉励をして出世したということですね。

よく、お葬式の時聞く「千の風」という歌があります。
「千の風」は、作者不詳の英語の詩（Do not stand at my grave and weep）に、作家の新井満氏が翻訳して曲をつけ、テノール歌手、秋川雅史氏さんが歌ったことによりヒットしました。
原詩は「作者不詳」ですから、著作権もないでしょう。
